Bradford's Growth Zone To Be Unveiled at Bradford Business Conference

The Growth Zone is a targeted investment area that will offer a number of incentives for business to relocate or expand. Most commercial organisations in the growth zone will be able to benefit from support for skills provision, a responsive planning service, improved broadband speeds and city centre wi-fi coverage and improved public realm investment.

Additionally, eligible businesses in priority sectors for Bradford will also be able to take advantage of a new business growth scheme which could provide assistance with business rates payments, provided they re-invest in creating job opportunities for local people.

The scheme is funded by £17.2 million from the Council and £17.6 million from the Government. This element is a provisional allocation from the Regional Growth Fund and is currently being finalised with Government. If agreed by Government it is likely elements of the zone will be opened for applications from Autumn 2012.
